There is circulating rumors what Galitsin was arrested.
what do the rumors say he was arrested for? I'd be surprised that he didn't have anyone else to help him run those sites.
yeah it doesn't really make sense that a photographer being arrested would interfere with site updates so rapidly. one would think they'd have a good number of updates sitting in wait - could be wrong though.
and if the supposed arrest had something to do with the site, it seems unlikely the local authorities would allow the site to remain operational.
I'm more of the opinion they're all off at a festival somewhere drinking fermented potatoes.
I know there's at least one webmaster helping him out... As for the rumours, maybe he was arrested, but I doubt it's about the site as it's still fully operational...

There is a response from one of Galitsin's team members about this issue on another big adult board. I don't know if it's OK to quote or link to another board so I'll let you guys look for it, search for "galitsin"
Galitsin is under arrest now. But article 242 " Illegal distribution of a pornography " is incriminated to him. Nevertheless, in Russia there is no "lawful" distribution of a porno. As to minor models it is full bosh - newspapers, as always, tell lies and write that the Office of Public Prosecutor will tell, instead of reason.
Now everyone who worked with Galitsin either are arrested, or are witnesses. Nevertheless, any court in Russia cannot really punish the photographer, therefore there is a hope, that all will end safely, but it is not known when.
Therefore, it is not necessary to develop further theme CP or under-age because Galitsin and his assistants have all necessary documents on shootings, including, and all copies of passports, and they are ready to present their to any checking structures. Only in Russia, in this mad country, all this has not helped.:-(
It is not necessary hysterics, I believe, that all will be good. All of us hope for it.

I mentioned it in the GFY thread as well... seems strange to create pornography for a living (and a visible one at that... apart from his web site I think he's also published books) if you know it's illegal in your country.
There are webmasters from China and it's a death sentance there. I would think in countries like Russia or China it's probably hard to earn a good living. So maybe it's worth the risk for them.
I know I wouldn't ever run a high profile site like that if it was illegal there. Then again I'm sure we all know a big % of the spammers and spyware companies are from right here in the US.
So if the reward is worth the risk, people will do it.

I posted a link to one of the sites to a friend in Russia who said the models were 15-17 years old in some cases.
I have pulled the links to his sites on my review site as I'm not promoting anything that could be associated with underaged models.
His sites had a perfect 100.
Surprisingly, I wasn't doing that well, considering the score
