wait, when is Labor Day again? lol
    I haven't thought about Labor Day since I self-retired back in 2004.
Labor Day is a 9-to5er's holiday, a time-clock puncher's paid vacation day...most of us, in here, no longer do 9-to-5. We don't punch a clock and damn-near everyday is a vacation day for us. LMAO

Americans celebrate labor day at 3.9 so maybe that's why you are confused It is quite ironic why usa goverment decided not to celebrate same date as rest of the world considering that holiday is based on event which happened in usa because they were afraid of riots. And it seems they were kind a right considering there is indeed people around world rioting today Also, seems that term "labor day"is associated with american version of it while correct term would be International Workers Day according to wikipedia, but that doesn't have sense since in europe always calling it labor day.Perhaps we should sue Usa for trademark violation

They now want to call it "Loyalty Day" in the United States.

Loyalty Day is observed on May 1 in the United States. It is a day set aside for the reaffirmation of loyalty to the United States and for the recognition of the heritage of American freedom.
The holiday was first observed in 1921[2] as "Americanization Day,"[3] and was intended to counterbalance the celebration of Labour Day on May Day (May 1), an internationally celebrated holiday for the commemoration of the Haymarket Massacre in Chicago in 1886.

Loyalty Day is celebrated with parades and ceremonies in several U.S. communities, like Batavia, Illinois, although many people in the United States remain unaware of it. Although a legal holiday, it is not a federal holiday, and is not commonly observed.

It feels a little 1984ish to me but that's just me.

There is only one proper way to celebrate the labor day - with more labor

So I did today, I took a day off inthe office and spent the day at home building a wooden play house for my kids ))

Ironically, labor day is celebrated by taking a day off from labor.
