Default 10 steps to dictatorship in the US

The ten steps to establishing a dictatorship

Remember, Naomi Wolf talks about all this in her documentary The End of America, where she outlines the 10 steps through which all nations establish a dictatorship.

    Those steps are:

    1. Create an internal/external threat that terrorizes the populace. This has already been accomplished with Oklahoma City (false flag) and 9/11 (another false flag). Get the film "A Noble Lie" from www.InfoWars.com to learn the truth about Oklahoma City.

    2. Create secret prisons, with torture. Obama did this nicely with the NDAA (as well as keeping GITMO open even after promising he would close it).

    3. Create a paramilitary force. This is the TSA.

    4. Single out ordinary citizens as 'troublesome persons.' This has been accomplished by Janet Napolitano's "if you see something, say something" propaganda campaign.

    5. Establish surveillance of citizens' groups and ordinary citizens deemed 'troublesome.' This is already well under way through surveillance of emails, phone calls, vehicle movements and more.

    6. Detain and release citizens without formally charging them with any crime. This has been "legalized" under Obama's NDAA. (http://www.naturalnews.com/034537_ND...hts_Obama.html)

    7. Target key individuals who are well known, popular figures. This has already begun and will likely accelerate. Who do you think killed Andrew Breitbart? Congressman Bono?

    8. Restrict the press. Already done. The U.S. government, in fact, essentially runs the mainstream media today. White House announcements are simply printed as "fact" with zero journalism and zero fact checking taking place.

    9. Redefine dissent as treason. This is already happening with figures like Ted Nugent who was recently "visited" by the Secret Service after his anti-Obama rant. All throughout government speeches today, the criminals at the very top proclaim that anyone who questions government is "anti-American" and might be involved in domestic terrorism. The FBI even warns that people who "stockpile food" might be terrorists! (Even though the government itself stockpiles massive quantities of food, guns, ammunition, communications gear, medical supplies and more...)

    10. Subvert the rule of law. Already done. Law has been complete abandoned by the ATF, DEA, FDA, USDA and every other federal agency you can think of. The Attorney General Eric Holder actively plots ways to destroy the Bill of Rights, and the government stages false flag terror attacks to undermine constitutional protections.

I view it more as a cultural problem than some kind of intentional conspiracy.

The so called representatives in government have absolutely no respect at all for the law or the founding ideology - to the point that it has become fashionable to be derisive of anything which could be described as that ideology - and view these as impediments to achieving their own goals, which they always refer to as "pragmatic" or "common sense" rather than as belonging to some other and different ideology.

The duopoly which the two major political parties have entrenched themselves in assures that this situation will continue for as long as the duopoly exists. Each half picks and chooses which aspects of the founding ideology they wish to defend and yet both act to subvert some of the same aspects so there is no real political choice at all for the people to make. The political parties tacitly conspire to play both sides against the middle, which is the only way they can retain or gain power.

Shortly after I left public schooling, schools began to receive mandates that some percentage of students must pass basic proficiency exams. I don't believe that this was part of any conspiracy but rather a knee jerk reaction to typical public complaints about "failing schools" blah blah blah. The effect that this had was that schools altered their course of studies from attempting to give students a well rounded, classical liberal education, to merely training them specifically to pass the topics presented on the exams. The exams do not concentrate on topics such as American government and political theory, so those subjects are not taught as they used to be. Consequently, we have an entire generation of young adults who lack the benefit of an education in these matters, and have never been presented with the ideas of unintended consequences of governing acts, the reasons why the republic was established, and the basic premise that power tends to attract those who are corrupt, and the structure of government must safeguard against that tendency. So the people are becoming increasingly naive about such matters as a result of different educational standards.

Add to this the emergence of 24 hour television "news" channels - all of which do a piss poor job of fact checking, all of which cater to viewers of specific political orientations in order to produce a targetted market for their advertisers - as well as the downfall of print media, and although people have access to more media than ever before, they have access to less news of the same reporting standards than they've had in the past. The previous generation of news reporters and editors were guided professionally by the Fairness Doctrine and after that was no longer law, they tended to at least exhibit some impartiality as a matter of routine. However that generation is now leaving the profession and the current crop has had no exposure to such an idea, so the reporters tend to march lockstep with whatever personal political leanings they hold. This contributes to what I wrote above about the duopoly playing both sides against the middle.

This situation has degenerated so rapidly - really, most of it has happened in only the last ten years - that there now exists a president who has conspired to murder US citizens without a trial and yet not a word was mentioned by anyone in Congress of trying him and his conspirators for this crime. Congress did not even so much as debate over whether his actions were somehow legal, and his political opponent (Romney) has not spoken about this crime. And why would he? If he wins without debating, then he will likely be entitled to commit the same - or if history is any guide, incrementally more heinous - crimes.

It was only in the 1970's that a President was forced to resign due to what is best described as conspiracy to theft of documents (Watergate). In the 1990's another President had to sit through impeachment proceedings for lying to Congress about sexual escapades. Yet now somehow first degree homicide is acceptable?

This is the byproduct of years of voter apathy. If only people would make an effort to open their eyes and educate themselves about what has been going on in government then they may just get out and vote with conviction. It is the best interests of those that make a living off making laws to keep the populace as dumb as possible. Many of us are just too busy to trying to make a living to do something about it. It is just easier to believe that somehow it will just right itself.

The federal government continues to grow because of a full time legislature that justifies its existence by trying to regulate just about everything there is. You add all of the regulatory agencies that have the authority to make regulations in order to enforce the laws that Congress pass and you have a magabureaucracy. Every once in a while you have some common sense and an intrusive bill gets tossed, such as the recent attempt to regulate child labor on family farms. Let's face it people die every day going about the business of living and no well meaning legislation will ever put an end to that.
