If you find an especially useful plugin feel free to post it in this thread. If you're looking for a specific plugin post your request here and maybe someone else will find it. I'll try to keep watch for any that seem most useful and update this first post.

• WordPress SEO Plugin - Search Engine Optimization Plugin - Yoast
  - edit: this does work with WPMU however I found that it had multiple conflicts with other plugins.
• WP-Cache 2.0
• WordPress › Jetpack by WordPress.com
  - edit: in WPMU this caused a somewhat significant increase in server load when I opened multiple admin pages simultaneously
• Broken Link Checker for WordPress
  - edit: this works with WPMU but apparently only by activating it on individual blogs. a network activation just results in broken installations for some reason.
• WP-reCAPTCHA - not compatible with current version of WPMU
• SI Captcha works with WPMU, but uses a normal (i.e. more easily broken) captcha.
  - edit: in WPMU this caused a somewhat significant increase in server load when I opened multiple admin pages simultaneously
• WP Minify WordPress Plugin
  - edit: be aware that this leaves a big footprint in WPMU. it links all the .css, .js etc files to the domain of the master install, which ties all of your sites together.
• YARPP | Yet Another Related Post Plugin
  - edit: in WPMU this caused a huge increase in server load when I opened multiple admin pages simultaneously
• Easy Privacy Policy - does not work with WPMU - warning: this creates a bunch of entries in the mysql DB which are not removed when you delete the plugin.
• Auto SEO Tags

And my first requests:

• Something like Auto SEO Tags but rather than simply add tags, has the capability to append to the title.
• Something like Easy Privacy Policy but which will work with WPMU. Also if it could generate that affiliate disclosure thing that the FTC requires, that would be great.
• ReCaptcha or similar that works with WPMU
• Something to allow creating default settings for new WPMU blogs.

What's it do?

Here's what I use, all compatible with WP 3.1.3:

Akismet no more spam viewable in your comments.
Contact Form 7 in case someone wants to contact you, good especially on business sites or any sites where you sell your own products/services.
Easy Privacy Policy apparently Google has a hard-on for privacy policy pages, so let it have one.
StatPress for stats. Not the best, but using it until I find a better one.
Terms of use to require users to agree to terms and conditions on first login, registration, comment form, or first access to specified page.
Wordpress database backup in case shit hits the fan so you can re-create a site easily.
WP super cache caching plugin for speeding up your WP site.
WP sticky post enables you to have one (or several) post stay on top regardless of how many others you post.

I also use Wordpress SEO which AmateurFlix has already posted.

Hmm seems like all the others i know were already listed besides three:
WordPress Importer is very handy.
Facebook Page Publish is good, if you want to save time updating your site's page.
I like GD Star Ratings very much. if you need that feature of course.

For y'all using Wordpress MU

Activate Update Services plugin

For some reason WordPress removes the Update Services ability (under Settings - Writing)
when you create a network (aka enables WordPress MU/Multisite). Activate this plugin to get it back.
Note: This is only for WordPress setups with a network, aka multiple sites, aka multisites,
aka WPMU in WordPress 3.
This plugin might work with older WordPress MU sites to. I haven't tested it though.
