Credit card giant VISA International has suspended its business with ePassporte, an Internet payment system widely used to pay adult Webmasters and a raft of other affiliate programs. A number of adult Webmaster forums are up in arms over the move because many of their funds are now stranded. Visa has been silent on the issue so far, but KrebsOnSecurity.com points to an e-mail from ePassporte founder Christopher Mallick saying the unexpected move by Visa wouldn't strand customers indefinitely. Mallick co-directed Middle Men, a Paramount film released in August that tells the story of his experience building one of the world's first porn site payment processing firms, as well as the Russian mobsters, porn stars and FBI agents he ran into along the way. Interestingly, the speculation so far is that Visa cut ties with ePassporte due to new anti-money laundering restrictions in the Credit Card Act of 2009, which affects prepaid cards and other payment card instruments that can be reloaded with funds at places other than financial institutions

That is usually happening to accounts that are inactive for a very long time. They lock up the funds until you login again and ask for the funds to be returned to the account, which usually works fine in normal conditions.

I have read that some people got that message after trying to withdraw from the wallet one way or the other. Did you try to withdraw?

No, im from fucking hungary, i cant do anything. I tried to add a master card, to withdraw, but im not able to do that. americans thing hungary is a terrorist country or i dont know, but i couldnt even load money to my account in the past. And actually i have only $450 in my wallet, my big money on my visa account

I think that you trying to add the credit card triggered the protection status, I have read that before on another board.

I would be also extremely surprised if anyone is recieving any funds before they are able to announce that the visa service is back. That actually is their only chance to keep alive.

People are being automatically flagged if they try to withdraw money from their Wallet.

They do not want anything moving out of their system I assume until they get everything figured out.

It has nothing to do with terrorism but rather the amount of fraud that occurs in and around your country.

it sucks. epass is making a joke of me. maybe of all of us.
On 1th sept i got a msg to send some documents. ID, proof of residence etc. Its ok. no problem about it, and they said I have 30 days to send them.
And now, my account is flagged by them cuz these docs are missing... The msg i got from them was only 3 days ago. I still have 27 days to send them!!! WTF??????? are they totally crazy? I asked them to fucos on the main problem and leave me alone with this shit when i still have 27 days to send those shits.

I got a message on the 22nd to send all my documents which I already had year/s ago. Said I had to in 10 days or my account would get limited function. Well I didnt get this until the 1st which I promptly supplied the info as I was reaching out for a wire anyway.

My details have been accepted and cleared it appears no problem. I wonder if VISA has given epass 10 days or so to get complient with everyones info before they pulled the plug? Does everyone else notice epass asking for documents in the last 2 weeks or so? Or is it just me and a couple others?

Delonge, you may aswell go out TODAY and get yourself a job man. No sense and sitting on the board and talking about how your gonna kill yourself and your so fucked, etc etc. Get a job now and get your funds back later. TRUST me, you definetly dont have the most money wrapped up in this shit then anybody.

Well, Delonge got the docs request too.

I was basicly hoping from the beginning that this has all to do with the client documentation being incomplete and not completed in the time frame visa wanted.

If this is the case I would think positive as compliance can be "restored" quite easily by suspending not documented accounts and following up on the docs.

But man, that would be too easy here I guess. I cant wait for next week.

P.S. I just checked my 2 accounts and my wifes and they are all documented for years already with the form they wanted, proof of adress and government ID.

i wanted to withdraw money from my wallet to my CC then i seen, the CC listed there is one from a banking account i recently cancelled, hence i added a new VISA card to epass, and i had that confirming thingie right away, i supplied all documents within 30 minutes and uplodaded them since then i have this "fund protection mode" message as well

but still its weekend, i doubt they can clear up much with VISA over the weekend, and i am still sure they will figure it out. For me the lesson was teached well. Even thou i trust ePass there are some things which are simply out of their control, like as we have now, that VISA locks them out.

so as of my understanding, the banksters we recently bailed out with our tax money they are now, and i am not surprised, against us, making us a hard time getting the normal workflow running. Something like that can indeed ruin the already pretty fucked up industry.

So what did i learned from it?
Always have a good chunk of cash at a safe place (which is obviously not your bank), cause as we seen today the banksters can cut you off your money without a single second of warning, and they dont feel a single bit responsible for doing so, Remeber when they pulled the plug, on thursday right before the weekend.

so as of my understanding, the banksters we recently bailed out with our tax money they are now, and i am not surprised, against us, making us a hard time getting the normal workflow running.

It might just be that the US government is looking to maximise its tax revenues in order to pay the bankers to get them back on their feet and back to their lavish lifetsyles. A little regulation, a little pressure, and we're all back to the thieving bricks and mortar banks that are easier to regulate and trace funds.

Something is definitely stinky - companies dont lock down millions of dollars and news networks ignore the story there has to be some reason they are not airing this on CNN or BBC - is visa pressuring them to keep quiet .....................

im one of the people who is suffering greatly right now. got a few couple thousands in there....
my question is this...
did anyone think of asking epassporte to send the funds BACK to the sites that sent them initially.. so that the ites can send the funds back to us by other means......?
is that an opion?
im in pain right now... my mortgage is over 2K a month and i was relying on epass for it!
