    Default Pay for SEO optimizing

If I was to hire someone to optimize a site, add good trades and evaluate the overall of a site, who can I trust to do this for me and what must I expect to pay?

    Thanks!

dunno, but apparently guestbook/comment spam is doing wonders for some new sites in the top 10 for porn and free porn

Depends on the site, your expectations and the keywords you want to rank for. Have all those in mind before contacting any SEO.

Comments or the sites from top rankings that are using this method?

I don't think either are going to be removed anytime soon. Comment spam works, even with no-follow tags on.

@Horny Joe - Do not waste your time with an "expert." Most of the stuff they will probably tell you to do is freely found on the web.

half the first page for "porn" is sites with spam backlinks.

    Site Explorer - Search Results

i know people were doing it with older domains but that site looks new. even a pimproll domain page is ranking ... crazy.
    why not?

Yeah, I have read some and tried what I have learned. I have used my blogs to link to other of my sites in the posts. Tried to use other keywords than the big ones. Since july is my best month ever (june used to be) I guess I have done something right somewhere But I really want to get a bit higher. A relevant key phrase for hjcom was falling two places on g0ogle. Was #7 now I am #9 on the first page. On yah0o I am #5 on page 2 for same phrase. I believe I was on page one a few weeks ago.

I will try to do the "comment trick" if I find some good blogs/forums. There is at least one big one that allows link in the sig, so I will post more there

my experiences tell me the formula to win SEO is AGE, UDPATES, KEYWORD IN DOMAIN, AND CONSISTANCE BACKLINK to race off any competitors.

Feel free to hit me up and I'll spend some time and look over the site and give you some recommendations on what I see, no charge.

I don't consider myself an expert or guru, I just get all my traffic from google and always have, it's 'what I do'. But I feel much the same as posted by a few above, don't buy into the bullshit and hire a 'seo expert', 95% of them are riding the rail of quality and very few have any actual rankings to back up their claims.

There is basically 4 types of SEO guys who sell their services.
    1. Guys who have no ranks to show.
    2. Guys who rank their clients url's.
    3. Guys who rank great for their site. (1 niche, or site)
    4. Guys who rank for more then a few niches, more then a few sites.

Type 1 guys obviously, do not use, nothing to show means nothing has been achieved.

Type 2 guys are better, but who can guarantee you have the same resources as the 'client'. Think age of their sites, content, links, everything they have, can you match them? What happened on a clients network will not always happen on yours, they are different entities and not even relevant to each other.

Type 3 guys know how run A site. They most likely have great sites that cater to their niches and because of it, over the years, got rewarded for it. They rank well in google for their terms because they run great sites, not because they are SEO superstars. Point being, not all top listed sites are run by SEO's, many are just run by good webmasters and get ranked accordingly for their value.

Type 4 guys are guys you want to hire. They can take a niche, build a network or link strategy and take it over. Results show that they can do it and you can see their sites in search results for different terms, different urls. This is a guy who can work with 'any' niche (including yours) and has a valid method to game the engines, there is proof of it.

Problem is, those type 4 guys are running a handful of successful sites, and taking any time away from their earning business is going to cost.

EDIT - Heres an article I did a couple years ago about hiring an adult seo. May be worth a read for ya as well.

    alot.

I do seo of this type but I only do work for myself as he suggested.

However yeah JDoughs is spot on. EXCELLENT post.

Honestly its not all that difficult. You just have to pay attention to detail and remember what works and what doesnt. I would say go read up on it but honestly ive probably never spent more then 4 or 5 hours reading about seo. Its all trial and error and paying attention to what works and what doesnt and bringing everything together in a way that google likes. These days a budget doesnt hurt but it can be done with no budget really, even the large keywords. I myself go a little different then others. I go straight for large keywords and the rest just fall into play on the way to the top of the large keyword. I personally dont fuck with small or longtail keywords as I end up with them anyway at the end of the day.

edit* I know thats different then everybody else claims but im not too worried about it.

edit 2* As for the guestbook/xrumer talk thats a waste of time if you want anything long term or stable. I havent seen anybody rank more then about a month and its getting shorter each time before google catches their blackhat ways. So if your serious about making money day in and day out dont waste your time or domains getting blacklisted.

Thank you for excellent answer, jdoughs! I will hit you up on ICQ and get some advice, if you don't mind, But that will have to be some time after august. I am going for holidays for 4-5 weeks and will only be checking my sites for bugs, hacks, new trades and such while away.

I will honestly admit that one of my biggest problems is that I tend to have too many balls in the air (not counting my private ones). Lately I have devided my work doing 50% on hjcom and the rest on blogs, other tgps and mainstream. Hjcom is the site I want up. For the last weeks I have been sorting galleries into sub niches, writing new keywords in the descriptions, added backurls from my blogs and so on. The basics for getting a decent tgp and SEO. Much to learn, but that is just fun
