Get an API and submit the scammers. Block them based on IP and Email, not Username and your little rolex watch and dog training spammers will be taken care of.

It takes all of about two seconds. You just need somebody that has full access to members profiles so they can submit to the database.
only CraK & DX could do that afaik
So if my email or IP was banned on some other site that uses this plugin due to lets say moderator abuse or personal vendetta then im automagically banned on every other site using it?
I see to much room for abuse with this as lets say GFY used it and banned everyone in their database then removed the plugin and the bans afterwards. Now every other community using it will have ended up shooting itself in the foot and would probably not have a clue wtf was going on.

We dont have a spammer problem anyway, so I dont see a need for it.
Also, a ban is for their IP, not on their username. So once a user gets banned, their IP gets blocked as well.

Toker is somewhat right that there is room for abuse. It's up to the forum owners only to report actual spammers, not personal fights etc.
Even if you aren't submitting to the API, the good thing of the plug is that you get the benefit of blocked ip's in the system.
