It looks like most of the stuff on there is actually new as well. The other tube sites I've seen looked like they just had a lot of 80s/90s porn.

crazy stuff. I predict that there will be a time in the future where sponsors themselves will hand out 30 minute clips. There's no competition because those sponsors won't be selling 'canned porn' but direct adult experiences (cams), adult services (dating sites) and male health products (penis pills, enlargers, etc). No copyright problems because the sponsors either custom produced the materials for cheap in Eastern Europe or legally produced porn in Asia. Also, no conflict in business models since there's no cannibalizing (ie., content vs content)

There are only so many surfers you can sell cam shows and dating to. Besides, someone must pay for producing the content, which I have my doubts about when it comes to cams/dating sponsors.

It's only stupid if they are cannibalizing their business model. However, if free and legal (sponsor owns the copyright) custom-produced/canned content is used to upsell to noncompeting products on services it might not be "stupid." Another possible direction are legal tube sites that publish sponsor-distributed semi-niche content to upsell "superniche" or custom-created/crowdsourced 'webisodes'.

As for the argument that there's only so many surfers you can upsell to cams, dating, products, those are just the services and products that are currently being pushed. There may be others that may also fit this promotion strategy.

NOTE: I am not condoning tube sites (and similar content distribution models). Copyright infringment is a serious problem. However, instead of letting the conversation begin and end there, webmasters might want to look at the big picture. Just as CJ sites were superseded by TGP and TGP superseded by tube sites, webmasters should keep their eyes open as to the differing ways this evolution will play out. All I'm saying is given the current trends, I wouldn't be surprised if things turn out this way. I don't wish for it to happen. So don't blame the messenger/seer.

Maybe instead of denying the impact that tube and Web 2.0 content/promotion models have on how content is promoted and monetized online, webmasters should look this trend in the eye and see how they can ride (and possibly influence) the wave instead of being swept under it.

Viacom didn't buy in to the whole Web 2.0 buzzword, and the courts agreed, so I don't agree that content producers just have to deal with it because it's the new thing to do. Tubes need to get the idea that hiding behind unfiltered uploads is BS.

    exactly.

has there been even one adult tube site taken to court over this shit yet? my guess is no...

I also don't see legal tube sites replacing quality niche content or solo-girl stuff at any point.

They allready are... ND has had 10 minute clips for a very long time now and Brazzers allows some tube sites to use some of their older full length scenes.

I've already predicted this in the past.. I said it would be 5 min clips then 10 min clips then full promo scenes.
