Default Shap & RedTube, your thoughts?

I see the Twistys and ShapCash are sponsors here. Just wondering what y'all think of Shap's recent announcement on GFY about his deal with RedTube, plus the pre-checked cross sales to Brazzers.

I don't much care for either one.

I think they made a deal with the devil.

    - Dropped them as soon as I read his post.

Sponsoring content theft is the last thing anyone should do.
Redtube are hurting because they only getting payments from AFF and a few other dating sites. If no one sponsored them they would close down.

Never promoted neither of them and now I'm sure I never will. No good this imho.

    I just read that post.

I haven't seen a more convoluted rationalization in quite some time. His argument seems to be that an affiliate may promote a site using stolen content, so long as the page HIS links are on do not contain stolen content.

I especially liked the part where he claimed that file sharing is forcing musicians to make better songs in recent years

I think shap will lose a lot's of moonies beacuse he will lose a lot of regular webmasters which can bring much much more money then redtube.I bet redtube only bring loses to advertisers beacuse such traffic is worthless in most cases. As xxxjay said, such traffic convert 0:50000.In shortly, there is no sense to have any connection with redtube.

Sadly, I think you are mistaken. There are a few webmasters that have a backbone, the rest, well, they just don't.

Look at how many sites still promote AFF, Brazzers, Sexsearch, Quickbuck, Adultadworld and so on. Drinkinghard(GTS) even came out for the defense of Adultadworld last night on gfy.

Wasn't it the 4th quarter or so last year that Shap made a post about prechecked cross sales being bad? I don't remember the exact time he made the post but it was the same time it was discovered that Quickbuck was popping their join pages over CCBill and Epoch join pages in an effort to steal sales. And now having pre-checked sales to Brazzers.

I use to admire that program(twistys) and even recommend it. Now here are even more reasons to never do that again about any program as it appears you just never know..

I didnt said they will lose entire their webmaster base,i only said they will lose some part of it beacuse of it and that's way they should drop redtube(after all shap said he would donate all money generated by redtube). And yes i am fully aware aff is still number one dating sponsor on tgp sites and others.

HAHA thats a joke. I remeber Shap getting his panties all in a bunch for babe blogs having AFF running on the same page as galleries promoting his content (with links to twistys of course).

But now he thinks its ok to deal with redtube? ha

I saw shap said the AVERAGE ratio for tubesites are 1:1500-1:3000? Jesus, it's not terrible but average? Why the hell would you want an average ratio of 1:3000 over good blog/tgp traffic at 1:200 or less

I think any program with an average of 1:1500 is a good one actually. Not much sites will produce a large volume of sales on 1:200 anyways

Why not? I fail to see your point really..
Why can't shap have the blogs sales AND the tube sales? Why would he have to choose either, or? Why should shap care if the tube owners can't convert their traffic. It's basically free money to shap. (aside from the fact that they may or may not be abusing his content).

the ratios are not really relevant; my understanding is that tube sites have terrible CTR's anyway, so even 1:500 might be a lousy ratio if they had to generate 10X as many impressions per banner/link click.

the part about this that really annoys me is that he's not only benefiting from traffic derived from using other people's stolen content (albeit on different pages of the same site) but he seems to be advocating this premise to others as well.

I wonder if he would encourage an affiliate that is using other forms of illegal content elsewhere on their domain, just not on the same page as his links. it's really no different...

If EVERYONE (sponsors) would do this, then there wouldn't be any illegal tube sites, as all the content would be sponsor-regulated. (ripped DVD's are becoming irrelevant too since the big companies have online presence already).

..just to be clear though, I don't use any tube advertising on porngreen. Nor have I any plans to do it. So, that's not the reason I'm "defending" shap.

    True. I said IF.
Also, IF all free content vanished overnight, we'd start to make mad bling.
    Wishful thinking..

Besides the tubesites giving out too much? Sure then I would take both. I guess im just used to always trying to lower my ratios that I see numbers like 1:3000 and forget some people pull those number but with way more sales.
