credit cards are being canceled (i think around 80 million in the last 2 months) and credit limits chopped as of late. also from what i read processor declines are way up as i assume banks are losing their stomach for risk.

i would like to give you a personal statement about my sales but my search traffic shit the bed this month so sales down anyways.

november 1st was my highest day, then on 2nd 10% drop, on 3rd another 15% drop and so forth... yesterday was the lowest sales day in last 10 days.

Basically from november 1st it just went downhill on daily basis.

This is something I have gotten into major arguments with the big webmasters over. PORN is not a MUST HAVE thing. When it comes down to it, they will quit buying porn. Millions out of work and don't have a clue when they MIGHT get another job, so buying porn is out. Especially with Christmas here. They will spending their porn money on Christmas.

Ofcoarse the FUCKING TUBE sites you all keep bitching about but KEEP putting up isn't helping.

Videobox.com charges 9.95 and gives you 7000 DVDs, hows that about cheap entertainment? Cheap or not? Yes, porn is cheap entertainment and wont ruin anyones budget and people will continue to buy it. There will be a decline during tough times, but its no gonna die.

Exactly the same as in my case, 3rd was a breaking point, yesterday was the worst.

I've been working with online advertising since 2006, and I've seen over the years that there are definitely seasonal patterns to traffic which have caused us to be oversold on inventory some months, and grossly undersold in other months.

One of the big things I've learned is you can't just look at a 2-3 day window, there are always going to be short anomalies.

Things like people being glued to the television to watch "balloon boy" have an effect on otherwise normal traffic patterns. I've found that one-time events like that don't have a big of an effect on the overall monthly statistics.

Now, bigger event drivers that affect more people over longer time, will ultimately affect the bottom line.

I haven't been in porn long enough to establish a good track record for sales patterns, but I'm sure that as I build traffic and increase my network, patterns will emerge. IE, which days of the week are better for sales, what time of day (relative to the purchaser), things like holidays, time of month (did payday just happen?).

I swear, I should have been a statistics major instead of a business MIS major. Numbers just have a way of speaking to me

We all feel the same big down on stats. Try every time to change the content, add new sponsors, every time is good to change something when don't do money.
My worst stats look like this for one of my sponsors where i send good SE traffic:
For ~ 311697 unique ips sent - 200 signups - 99 buys first time sales +299 sales from older members what was sent on revshare+Webmaster referrals 39,37$ i made 1992$

so my "happy" month finished with: 0,006 c/unique ip sent! Horrible!
The above performance was made on a webcam site with 80% SE traffic.
So be happy, tomorrow can be more worse...

Noticed the same huge drop in sales after November 1st. Sales are down about 60% during the last 10 days and I dont feel like it's getting better...maybe even worse. This sucks and I have no idea why this suddenly happend.

DIdn't say it was going to die. Just isn't a priority for peeps right now.

doesn't matter if it's a good deal or not of credit cards and credit lines are being terminated or reduced and porn sales declined at the processor level because adult is seen as high risk.

I'm still trading with some sites that have contents that is way out of date. My sales had held steady and actually last month was pretty darn good.

Porn isn't dead. You just need to find new unique program to promote. I know sometimes it hard to promote a new programs because you'll have to signup, import gallery and all that shit. And currently have no rebill in your new account (if you are doing rebill) but in the long run your sales will increase.

There always someone out there spending on porn, recession-wise or not, it just what you present to them. If stuff they already seen or can get for free (i.e. ZTOD), the chances of getting a sale is nil.

Good question, but since most of my program are non-ccbill and I haven't use ccbill since a while ago I can't tell.

Do you ever notice when these threads pop up that affiliate sales are down but somehow affiliate programs defy the laws of math and are ALWAYS up on sales? Hmm.. someone is profiting
