Default Popunders redirecting non-link clicks on site - acceptable?

I just discovered something at one of my trades, that opened a popup to blogs and landing pages, no matter where on the site I clicked. First I thought it was an exploit or browser hijack.

I contacted the site owner, and he told me it is a popunder from Exoclick (which I could pretty much verify when I had a look at the links I was sent to). This popunder was meant to only redirect clicks on the site that didn't contain any links. However, it also happened when I tried clicking on regular links.

So, probably it's misconfigured or just doesn't work correctly under Opera. Anyway, what do you think about popunders like that? In case they work like they should, I mean. Redirecting all clicks on the site that are not links to ad buyers. Acceptable? Or bannable offense?

This is completely new to me, to be honest, so I don't have anything about it in my trade rules.

You're the Captain of the ship so you decide where it goes in the end.

I personally wouldn't care too much as long as the surfer can still get back to my site easily and there are no automatic popups or popunders without clicking anywhere. It seems a little cheesy to me though.

Of course I am, I'm just interested about other people's opinions on this matter. Personally I don't care too much what a trade does with clicks that don't go to any links but on blank areas of his site.

    ...if properly configured at least

Working pop under codes that get through pop up blockers typically have to be onclick. But it should be onclick and cookie the surfer for at least an hour, otherwise you just get a crazy unproductive mess of pop unders.

IMO nothing wrong with a pop under, most non super clean tgps seem to have them these days. I even like to toss them up on some blogs which higher quantities of google traffic but convert worse then expected cause at least you cookie everyone that is searching around on your site then
