There's no industry standard for cookie time, but 1-5 days is definitely not enough for 50/50 revshare program (i guess 7 days is ok, a month is perfect. many programs have it set to 255 days - highest possible option for ccbill program). But it's up to you to decide. If you find a program u promote in that list - contact the owner and ask him to increase its time. Once he does this - he needs to send me a line at daizzzySIGNBUCKSDAILYcom and i'll remove him from the list

The bad thing about CCBill company, which doesn't like get itself involved into any issue of that kind, is that default cookie setting is 3 days. If you CCBill guys want better relations with webmasters, set it to 7 days as default (applying for new programs).

I would dump every sponsor on that list PERIOD.

End of the work week comes and Joe surfer parties a bit, blows most of his spendable cash trying to get laid and checks out some porn the next evening. Sunday he will be busy with family so he puts off buying a Membership that evening but bookmarks the site. So now Monday comes around it was pretty stressful and Joe is back to looking at free porn to get his mind off work. Suddenly he remembers the site he bookmarked the other day and heads back to possibly buy that membership.

Now think what happens if Joe decides to wait until Friday when he gets paid again. That would be a full week and all your cookie are going to be eated by the time Joe is ready to make his move. You are now cut out of the loop and the sponsor is eating a big fat steak to celebrate your loss. So yea fuck em all and send your traffic elsewhere until they get their shit together and at the very least give Joe a full week to open his wallet.

Meh, yet another reason why I stopped pushing CCBill sites (aside from stray CCBill links floating around on the interwebs...like shit in the toilet).

Surprised some of y'all are just getting on this bandwagon...as many times as CCBill site's cookie time length has come up in here.

You shouldn't remove them from the list, you just edit the existing list.

...show the ones that changed their cookie to a longer time, but leave what the original cookie length was...just in case they "decide" to change it back at a later date (which is exactly what some of these sponsors will do, especially the ones that changed from the default 3-day cookie DOWN to a 1 or 2 day cookie).

You have Cathyscraving.com listed...but the affiliate program to promote it is CathyCash.

If we could see the cookie length of these sites BEFORE we joined them, it'd be that much better for ALL sponsors and affiliates.
They already show us if the fees are split or not, they should show us the cookie-time as well.

Same thing I was thinking...those short-ass cookies definitely don't help affiliate sales, but i'm sure they're keeping the program-owners happy (short cookies combined with our traffic makes for a nice bankroll...no-cookie signups anyone?)

yep, that should be forbidden by ccbill to have a 1 day cookie

The default is 3 days and we have always allowed sponsors to modify this setting in the webmaster admin portal here: Affiliates-->Setup-->Advanced Features or by contacting client support via phone, email, or live chat.

If CCBill would just cease to exist the Adult industry would be much better off in the long run.

The only ones who win from this cookie bit over the long term is CCbill themselves. Sponsors will lose affiliates but many will simply move to some other CCbill sponsor. Either way it's no sweat off their backs which is why they dont give a shit if the cooke was set to Zero.

I am sorry you feel that way but we are here to stay.

We are here to help our clients and affiliates succeed as much as you hate to believe that. Clients can change the cookie settings as they see fit and also enable IP/browser tracking.

If ccbill's default is 3 days you can't blame many programs for using the default settings

In the interest of transparency, it might help - alot - if ccbill would prominently display the cookie expiration settings on that page which is displayed after signing up for a program. it would also be nice if anytime a sponsor changed the cookie settings, all affected affiliates were automatically sent an email via ccbill notifying them of the change, and specifying the previous and current cookie settings.

the present system makes it very easy for sponsors to set the cookie duration to something well below average, or to quietly change the cookie settings, without bringing this important consideration to the attention of their affiliates. Merely listing the cookie settings in the admin as is done currently is not very helpful for those of us with many dozens or even 100's of subaccounts to keep track of.

The default should not be 3 days to begin with but if you think it's enough then more power to you. Meanwhile some executive at CCbill is most certainly pleased to be enjoying the fruits of your labor. I cant say for sure what the default was a few years ago but i believe it was 30 days.

Thank you for that suggestion. I am checking now to see if that is included for a futrure release and if it's not I will have it added to the plate for consideration.

I have taken a look at the next planned release and in it is a long list of changes that our system will automatically send out emails for. Cookie length changes were not on that list but it has been added now.
