Thread: Expiring Domains

In light of a shitty sales year gone by and plenty of "getting out of the biz" talk (not to mention the headboy threads) I would like to suggest using this thread to list domains you intend to drop. Not sell but just let go. We have all bought something that never got used or was a fail from the start. I for one am a sucker for cool names and 3 letter .coms for email addresses and such.


If you have any that are dropping please list them here with the cut-off date.

Any thoughts are welcome!

Good idea, I've posted similar on the big board and actually pulled some winners out of it. About a dozen pr1-3 8-10 yr old domains with no issues and solid history.

I am hunting the drop lists for Tube or Video domains.

Anything else seems to have little future value in the coming age of free porn IMHO.

I'll pay at least $500 for any 3 letter .coms that are unwanted. I'll buy 3 character .coms as well - price depends on the characters of course.

Buying names before they drop is much more sensible than waiting for them to complete the expiry cycle. If they are of any use, then they probablt won't be allowed to drop anyway.

I would be interested in 3 letter domains aswell.

HB i would go as far as grabbing 4 letters if you can get them personally i just don't have the money to invest in these types of names since buying a house this year.

There are many TV networks, radio stations and businesses around the globe that use 3 and 4 letter call signs. And there are often new smaller stations popping up along with stocks symbols and other purposes for these types of domains.

Maybe some day someone will come up with a G8 vehicle and a site will be needed to brand it.

The way things are going there will be an FU2 vehicle before that, and then I can sell FU2.net.

Aha, your idea of "slow" is worse than mine. It's probably because the site is still in development and it's sitting in my office rather than at a USA webhost. I checked the logs and your query took 4 seconds to generate (my own test took about the same), so the remaining time was probably involved in getting it out to you. The DSL upstream is only 384kbit/sec so your results at 100% upstream capacity (which is unlikely) would have taken nearly 40 seconds to send out. Need to install mod_gzip I think.

Every couple of months, I'm doing an update right now which should go live in 2-3 weeks.
