At least one Ailes confidant has previously said the media honcho doesn't think much of Palin's intellect.

"He thinks Palin is an idiot," a Republican close to Ailes told New York magazine at the time. "He thinks she's stupid. He helped boost her up. People like Sarah Palin haven't elevated the conservative movement."

It's unfortunately a sad fact that since the advent of television a politician's looks tend to be a good indicator of their electability. Hell we even elected a movie star in the 80's Remember all the fawning over Obama while people openly criticized McCain as being too old and crippled, which normally the liberal crowd would have referred to as age and disability discrimination if anyone other than themselves had said it?

Yep this is something to which i agree and the even more sad fact is all the money and hype around Palin sucked millions from genuine supporters. Pretty soon all the election money is going to come from corporate bread donors. People are going to get fed up with supporting fake politicians.

It is well established that the good looking or thinner people usually are the ones that are hired first. So it would follow into the political arena as well. Fox hired Palin because they would profit from it.
