Default Occupy Wall Street - The resistance continues

Google+ this, Like it, Blog it, Spread the word!!!

Police intimidation has failed, the mainstream media ignores the real story, while Yahoo and others have tried to censor it. Go figure not all that long ago it was Yahoo themselves begging for a buyout to cover huge debts.

Yahoo blocked e-mails about Wall Street protests | Digital Media - CNET News

This is not a group of Tea Party fakes these are real people living in the real world. This is REAL revolution making history and you can be a part of it by spreading the word.

If this thing falls apart we can expect US laws will be modified to prevent it from ever happening again.

That's better then having Americans over in the middle east getting killed for oil needed to power Wall Street.

Would you rather them use loud speakers and preach about the second coming of Jesus?

much as I'd like to see a massive decrease in military expenditures and a withdrawl from the wars in (Iraq, Afghansitan, Pakistan, Libya, and I know there was some conflict somewhere else whose name escapes me) a bunch of bored college students protesting a bunch of disparate topics like this seems unlikely to accomplish anything.

The topic above all is saving American homes and punishing the big banks for a CHANGE rather then we the people for destroying our society. So it seems when Tea Party protests it has purpose but when Anonymous does it they get branded a bunch of bored college students.

No my friend you got it all wrong the Tea Party would not be willing to break a fingernail for you. But the bored college students behind this movement much like our military overseas may very well be willing to die for your rights and freedoms. You simply don't fuck with the Wall Street banking cartel if you truly value your life and these people are doing just that and making a public show of it. Plus there is no loud mouth Alex Jones or Glenn Beck behind this movement which makes it even more worth supporting imho.

    LOL.

You might want to take a closer look at the rhetoric those protestors are espousing. It sure as hell isn't about my rights or freedoms, i.e. the clown with the "fight for socialism" sign.

BTW I'm moving this thread to the political forum.

For once I have to agree with Toker

This whole current world economy setup is fucked to the bone and actions like this only show people are starting to realize it.

On a side note - It wouldnt be the first time actions of "bored college students" started a big change in society. Students without kids are more likely to protest as they dont have families to take care of and they are still full of ideals and dreams. Bored college students deserve more credit than they are getting.

While i understand the political nature and respect your decision this is part of the reason why this gathering is not bigger then it is. Everyone wants to brand it as being politically motivated and sweep it under the rug of politics. I notice what little coverage it has gotten in the media has fallen into that category. IMHO it should really be headline news and as nation-x stated if this was a Tea Party movement the media would be blowing it up bigger then life.

Even if nothing comes of this at least someone valued freedom enough to stand up for the right reasons instead of pretending to care simply to get votes. But i'm pretty sure something will come of it once people wake up and smell reality brewing. Lets also not forget Anonymous is not just some irrelevant group of middle aged cowards that hides behind a bunch of political talking heads.

Not only that but many of today's college students are also the future generation of voters, political figures, wall street insiders and presidential candidates.

I moved it to the political forum primarily because of the political overtones and I could tell that the conversation was likely to turn into a polarizing one which alot of people don't want to read in the main forum.

The tea party became a national movement in response to government activism. If this turns into something more than an event taking place in one city block, it'll likely get more attention as well. As it stands it's not even regional news, it's simply a local event taking place in a small area among not a lot of people. There are protests in NYC all the time, honestly I'm surprised that this is getting as much of the little attention it has.

I saw a story about this the other day and took a look at some of the protest signs. The message was literally all over the place, from economics to civil rights to the Troy Davis execution to some black people wanting reparations to women's rights to anti-religious protesting and on and on. And of course seemingly bored youth finding a place to hang out The tea party started with a pretty disparate message as well though.

I agree that the economic system is a bit fucked at the moment.

I agree with your decision. You guys are in charge but obviously it isn't business related and it's political so it probably belongs here.

Things like those four female protesters getting peppersprayed probably helped it to get more attention, I think. It does look like the protest largely failed this time around and did not gain the momentum they had hoped for.

That's what I have been hearing as well. No targeted message. I actually agree with many of the economic criticisms and think something needs to be done. Even if you disagree with everything they stand for you probably have to agree that it's nice to see the next generations becoming politically active. That's a lot better than just sitting on their asses and swallowing everything fed to them like so many do now.

I agree that the economic system is a bit fucked at the moment.
    Definitely.

Do you honestly even have the slightest idea who is behind this or realize what it's really about?

This is not just about the occupation in NY it's much more in fact it's intended to become a Social REVOLUTION and it's working contrary to media censorship.

I will stand by the side of Anonymous if they follow through with this. I live in NYC and I am a 9/11 1st responder who was turned down for SSI and Compensation. I feel the system has spit in my face because I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis of the lungs and they aren't raising a finger to help. I ask if any Anon reads this to expect a new ally to stand by your side and to have it known by all Anons to EXPECT ME...I DO NOT FORGIVE AND I CERTAINLY WILL NOT FORGET HOW THE SYSTEM HAS TREATED ME.

That's exactly the point traders and brokers could basically care less if their actions wipe out everyone elses retirement savings.

The whole system is based on the concept of he who has the most tends to gain even more. And most people have no choice but to take it up the pooper or hide their savings inside a mattress. Your money is not secure inside banks who pay almost nothing compared to what they earn and if there was ever another large run on many banks at once the FDIC would probably need a loan from Apple. I think Europeans might have it even worse with regards to the Euro but this was all planned well in advance. There will come a time when Governments decide it's time to enslave the people under a United Dictatorship and one of the ways to do that is to bring the country to it's financial knees.

The super rich rarely ever go broke but remember when Donald Trump was in fact broke?

He had friends in high places who loaned him money to rebuild his empire. Without those friends who likely made their riches on the backs of others (slave drivers) he would be just like the rest of us mortals. But now he's rich again thanks to other peoples money and acts like he is gods gift to America on Fox News. Basically just like the Wall Street banks his name made him to big to fail. There is no reason to punish your rich friends for making mistakes when you can instead punish the people who clean their toilets.

Yet if i asked to borrow a million the banks would demand 23 pieces of ID, a stool sample, complete DNA analysis, an organ backed guarantee and a signed and notarized pact with the devil.

Democracy working for the rich at it's very finest.

Bilderberg called and told all the media take it down.

They can't allow to much panic in the market before the rich get a chance to dump at peak prices. Afterwards they will blow the whistle and everyone else will get the opportunity to eat each other alive.
