Michele Bachmann, Republican candidate for Pres, is leading the polls in Iowa. Anyhow, she signed a pledge to ban all porn and same sex marriage.
Once again proving that Republicans are anti-porn.

No worries the media is ripping her a new one and there is no way she will become President.
There is simply no way all those male ego's in Washington or Wallstreet could handle taking orders from what would become a Female dictator.

Trying to ban porn in 2011 is basically political suicide. Sure some people will pretend that they support it but many of these same people are secretly our customers. She might be able to make it a more of a PITA (think secondary producer 2257) for us but there is no way she can ban all porn in America.
Bachmann has never had a bill or resolution she’s sponsored signed into law

But then again the Republican establishment followed Palin over the cliff and a big portion of the party (the stupids) still follow her. It must be because they are to embarrassed to turn back at this point and admit she is nothing but an overdone piece of talking Milf Meat.
I hope someone like Playboy manages to reel in her daughter Bristol at some point just to show what Christian family values really mean. Even better if someone managed to get hold of a sex tape with Palin and Bachmann having a threesome and getting banged up the ass by Jesus himself.

Maybe not the candidates personally. but a big part of the Republican base is comprised of religious conservatives. The two dominant political parties are like big tents made up of various factions and it just happens that the “ban all porn” voters tend to fall into the Republican camp. The religious right is very well funded and it's much more likely that they will be tossed a bone by a Republican candidate. From Nixon up to Obama that is exactly how it has played out.
I really don't believe the religious conservatives make up a significant percentage of the overall party base. they are, however, rather well organized and have their own media channels which is why politicians seem to pay an inordinate amount of attention to them - they get headlines easily. I would be willing to guess that there are as many anti-porn liberals floating around the democrat side, citing claims of "protect the children", "it's sexist", "it's not inline with women's rights", etc. as far as I know the Libertarian party is the only one which openly supports the rights of adult content pertaining to free speech.
Banning porn is like banning breathing, it just aint gonna happen. Perhaps you can attempt to regulate it to a greater extent. Look what happened to all of the affiliates that Amazon had in California the minute they established a nexus and considered California affiliate sales taxable.
