Willwank doesn't strike me as thee type to make false accusations like this or seek out drama. I don't think many people would have the guts to do it even if they knew it were true. I'm inclined to believe it without good evidence against it.

It'd be nice if others who also saw this crazy low prod would speak up and back up the claims. There's also the matter of funneling traffic from illegal tubes. I think that would be enough for many of us to not want to trade with them right there. I also see this post from oil http://www.askdamagex.com/f14/juicyv...12/#post428931 which is interesting. I think a lot of us wouldn't consider that kind of skim pattern a fair trade and we'd want to know about it. So I guess what's true here for sure and what isn't?

    1. skim patterns/traffic washing
    2. illegal tube traffic
    3. 0.07% prod

    There are separate issues.
Yes, all these 3 things are issues. Note, it's 7% prod, not 0.07%

Regardless of what PXN might think, average 7% productivity at approx 10k/day from any tube trade/tube traffic is not normal. I have several tube trades. Not a big fan but at least they are around the 100% mark. Killed many that was worse but nothing remotely close to 7%

I know of one type of high volume traffic that would produce something like 7%, it aint coming from over the counter at TH. Not acusing anyone so hold back on your "proof or banned". Just raising a legit concern when I see big volumes at this productivity. And yes, the 3 sites was a pretty good match, even after the sale.

Noted. I wonder if they did have crazy skim patterns in place like those Oil mentioned if you might end up getting such shitty prod. It's mostly spiders and bots which "click" 40+ times isn't it? That's why many scripts have the option to not count clicks after so many clicks and then send them somewhere as specified (TP has it at 15 clicks by default then it is classified as notcounted traffic). Correct me if I'm wrong on this or missing something.

Alright, a lot of things have been said in the meanwhile, so I'll try to address a few important ones.

the best the other guy can come up with is a self-proclaimed description of being "elite" and a complete side stepping of the most damning evidence, the fixed referrers.
Willwank clearly targets me and my co-workers personally: 'Never do any biz with any of the guys behind this'.
I think it's in order to mention that I know a few people that don't share his opinion. People we trade and do business with.
If addressing those people as 'very successful webmasters and online businesses' feels better to you, then I'll use those words next time.
I don't see how labeling, and please read well, -other people- as very successful webmasters would make me a self-proclaimed very successful webmaster.

and a complete side stepping of the most damning evidence, the fixed referrers.
    I didn't side-step actually.
'Fixed referrers' in general leaves a lot to guess when you're sure that you're not cheating or being shady.
As this thread shows, it's easy to accuse another webmaster of being shady/a cheater (while having deleted the logs that could help to explain things).
It's a lot harder to try and figure out what (someone else believes!) is going on, without getting detailed information of what happened.

We have looked into our logs and it seems that juicyvideos was targeted by a hitbot or a crawler on October 14, 2010.
That could be what willwank noticed.

It might explain the 'fixed referrers' as well as the low 7% production.
This was an incident that only took place that specific day, which can happen to any site, so calling us a cheater or shady as hell over that is way out of line.
We have no other explanation for this traffic peak other than being hit by a crawler or a hitbot.

We only use the settings in atx v1 that are customizable and use no fancy algorithm.
Also, as that has been named a few times by others: we do not feed tube traffic to sites like juicyvideos.com that display only free hosted movies galleries.
    It wouldn't make sense.

It's great to see that there are still a few guys that question these kind of accusations and actually do some research and try to find out what could be going on.

if you've been in this business for as long as you claim, then you should realize that one's ICQ list isn't very indicative of anything, and being in contact with "successful" webmasters doesn't mean much. the entry barrier to networking with most of them is non-existant. bringing up the topic in regards to something totally unrelated - i.e. questionable traffic stats - just casts further suspicion.

Well, thank you for doing your research after willwank indicated that he no longer had access to the logs in order to compare notes.

A crawler or bot of some kind is certainly a plausible explanation for what he reported.

If your ATX settings are as you say they are, you might want to check oil's post earlier in the thread regarding his observations, it's been a couple months now however I remember seeing something similar when I tested it via no entry referrer.

Just came across this, looking at something completely unrelated to this thread. Not mine, from someone who have been in the biz for a long time. Dunno if Talis have him down as one of his "elite" webmasters, doesn't really matter.

    Funny how teenseven.com , porzo.com and teentera.com stands out.

I know this is light traffic and diff sites from my case. Still I find it slightly amusing and hey, I got to brush up on my screen grabbing skills.

Seriously, I don't need more info re AWN sites. Everyone is free to make up their own mind.

the best sites on the web can send 10 uniques and get 2 clicks, but when they send 1000 uniques you get 4000 clicks.
