Ipower Web
Never register any domains with IpowerWeb.
I have been royally screwed by these incompetent scumbags!!
I registered a domain with them in July 2006.
Domain was set to expire July 11, 2007.
On June 20, 2007 I requested transfer of domain to my webhosting provider.
Transfer was denied as current registrar had 60 day hold on domain.
Per Icann policy, a domain may only have a 60 day hold if it is a new registration, or has been renewed or transferred, or funds are owed for registration.
None of the above applied at time of request of transfer as request to transfer was committed 20 days prior to registrar billing for renewal.
I emailed Ipower no less than a dozen times without a single reply whatsoever in regards to this.
I emailed Tucows, whom Ipower is a reseller for, also with no results.
on 7/11/2007 domain expired & traffic was diverted to an Ipower parking page.
I filed complaint with Icann against Ipower for violating Icann policy.
Finally I get response from Ipower via email & telephone whom then immediately re-activated domain & told me to wait 60 days to re-request transfer & whom also requested payment for renewal.
After explaining to them that my credit cards do not permit numbers to be punched into their machine, that the card(s) need to be physically swiped or virtual online transaction, I was told I would recieve invoice via postal mail to remit payment via check as ipower was not equipped to take epassporte as a virtual payment, nor were they able to physically swipe any of my other cards.
To date, I never recieved any invoices nor any other communications ever from ipower.
Today I discover that the domain in question is down & per whois domain is in redemption with expire date of 7/11/2007, when previous to today it showed expiration of 7/11/2008.
After a very heated exchange with Ipower I am told the only way to recover domain is to pay $160 redemption fee.
Do not do business with these incompetent thieves.
Ipowerweb should never have had a 60 day hold on my domain as it was not a new registration, nor was it a renewed domain at time of requesting transfer, nor were funds owed for renewal as request to transfer was 20 days prior to their attempted billing.
Ipower should NEVER have told me that they would send me a postal invoice as today they told me they do not do any such thing.
Ipower FAILED to notify me in accordance with Icann policy that domain is going into redemption.
Do not do business with these scumbags who utilize extortion tactics

I have tried ipower in the past for a few domains. I quickly switched after they delay registrations and started calling me all the time.
What really turned me off of ipower was how aggressive they got when I refused to continue business.
I don't recommend them at all.
