    I'm sorry but i have to let this be known . i have no idea what i have done to these people but i woke up one day all my sites were down i checked my emails they were no emails from hostican i contacted them and this is what they said to me.

    NOW - I'm all with understanding their terms what i don't like is the fact that all of this took place on jan 27 . it is now March 12 i have not gotten a backup of my server . No one has returned my 217 phone calls and messages and i'm still counting.
    I think it's very unprofessional to do this to people who have been spending $1000's of dollars at your company .

    i sent several emails in the last month . i even once got someone on the phone 2 days ago after the heard my domain name they put me on hold and cut me off . no answers to my questions about my servers content. basically i lost 5 years of my work which is worth over $400,000 . not to mention the 4 other popular sites i was hosting . whom content i cant say what happened to it. i have to pay these people back because their now suing me.

    here is the very last email i got from them

    Hello,

    This is an email to inform you that your account is now being closed.

    The reason for this action is that your account is abusing our server resources
    and causing issues within our network. Please find below a full backup(s) of
    your
    accounts.

    You’re hard drive will be sent to you via UPS. A tracking # will be provided as
    soon as
    it is available.



    well this was promising i have been waiting and waiting still hvent seen my hard-drive. trying to contact them by phone in hopes to recover my content and they treat me like shit on a stick.
    im very mad i cant express that any more.

    i cant see why i wasn't contacted to move my service some place else before they did this to me .i would of happily left . but this is totally wrong to hold my content . it;'s not like i have a unpaid bill i faithfully spent $344 for the last year and then this happen . no one has answers and they want me to take this laying down .

    i have contacted my lawyer and we are working on recovering my content .
    i guess im posting this in hopes that hostican can fine the decency to speak to me and let me know whats happening with my belongings. this is totally unfair .

    I don't know this host, but somehow it remembers me of "Can Host", is it the same host? If i remember they have been Canadians or?

    Sorry because it was my first post here it wouldn't let me post the link that they sent me with a bunch of bull shit terms . which basically said that they can terminate my account at any given time . the only excuse they gave me was that i was using up their resources and causing problems with their network. Thats the only info i have on my situation like i said they wont return my calls and wont answer any emails

    i can admit it's stupid of me to not have my stuff 100% backed up . i have certainly learned a big lesson . I have Backups of 80% of my work it's just a real bitch to pull out old footage and re-edit videos that didn't get backed up not to mention having a server and paying for daily backup with their service and still not being able to get my stuff from them is whats driving me up a wall .

    I hope someone from that company will clear the situation here because it needs an explanation for sure. If you're a paying customer and you have infringed no specific rule they really deserve the shitlist..

    Honestly, you should have read the terms a few times to understand their stance on things. If they didn't sound right to you, you should have gone elsewhere. If you were in fact running a good sized network/site on a shared plan you got what you deserved imo. Ask ANY host that offers shared/virtual hosting and they will tell you that clients abusing the resources and affecting other clients on that box are termed.

    Pretty shitty they didn't back things up before hand, but that's not their job unless you've asked for backups and/or are paying for backups...

    I had a dedicated server

    i cant understand how i can still affect others .It's been about 2 months i think for sure I'm not getting it back. the fact remains they said it would be sent back to me all I'm wondering is what happened. and daily backups i paid the extra money for that service. I mean it was in their terms that they close accounts but does that also cover them to not give me back my content . in both emails they sent me the first one says

    The fact remains they made me believe i was getting it back. If it was part of their terms not to return it they should of never made me feel that i was getting a backup of my account. They know their wrong thats why they can't get on the phone. my biggest thing is why are they not taking my phone calls. i feel they have something to hide and I'm sure I'm not the first and wont be the last person they do this to.

    Scoot over to http://www.webhostingtalk.com and run a search on them, see if more people have received similar treatment from them. If you find some it could help put together a team of people, get some legal help and sue the fuckers.

    Most of the webmasters we deal with on a day-by-day basis are men, so it's not to far-fetched to assume that a new person posting here, with a non-descriptive nickname, is male. That can normally be prevented by introducing yourself though.

    Just did out of curiousity a quick check and a search, returning realy a lot of issues with them, many similar like the one written in this thread.

    I guess it would take me a whole week to read ALL the threads about them, but here a comment from 1 thread that made me stop reading more, lol:

    So this one person isn't alone. Lots of other people have had poor experiences with them lately. Otherwise, they could have never accumulated so many so fast.
